Our Mission
We are excited to share news about an important project that brings together experts from across Europe to tackle the challenge of indoor air quality: Net4CleanAir, the Network for Indoor Air Cleaning.
This ambitious initiative is part of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) framework, which is a funding organisation supporting collaborative, interdisciplinary research, called COST Actions. Through COST Actions like Net4CleanAir, scientists, policymakers, industry leaders, and other stakeholders collaborate on shared challenges, driving innovation and expanding Europe's scientific and technological capabilities.
The Net4CleanAir project officially launched on October 18, 2024, and will run for four years, with the goal of promoting clean air for healthy and energy-efficient indoor environments.
About Net4CleanAir
Net4CleanAir is a response to growing concerns about the impact of indoor air quality (IAQ) on health and energy efficiency. Its primary goal is to establish a diverse network of researchers, companies, policymakers, and citizens to promote cleaner indoor air and develop standards and decision-making tools for indoor air cleaning technologies.
Our Objectives
The initiative focuses on several key areas to address the complex challenges of indoor air quality:
- 🔬 Research Excellence: Bringing together leading researchers from across Europe to advance the science of indoor air cleaning
- 🏭 Industry Collaboration: Working with companies to develop and implement practical air cleaning solutions
- 📋 Policy Development: Supporting policymakers in creating effective regulations and standards
- 👥 Community Engagement: Involving citizens in the development of healthier indoor environments
- ⚡ Energy Efficiency: Promoting solutions that improve air quality while optimizing energy consumption
COST Framework
The European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) is a funding organisation that supports collaboration among scientists and researchers across Europe. COST Actions like Net4CleanAir create networks that transcend national boundaries, allowing for the sharing of knowledge, resources, and expertise.
Through this framework, Net4CleanAir benefits from:
- Access to diverse expertise from multiple European countries
- Funding for collaborative research activities and knowledge exchange
- Support for early-career researchers and innovation
- Platform for policy influence and standardization efforts
